Questions

FAQ

What time does the night walk start?

At dark — roughly 7 PM in summer, a bit earlier in winter. Ted will confirm the exact time when you book.

How long is the walk?

About 90 minutes. Enough to see everything properly without wearing yourself out.

How much does it cost?

$40 per person (AUD). Custom tours are priced by arrangement.

Do I need to be fit?

Reasonable fitness is fine. The pace is gentle and Ted adjusts to the group. It's a walk, not a hike.

What should I wear?

Closed-toe shoes (trails can be muddy), long pants and sleeves. It's a rainforest — dress for it.

Do I need bug spray?

No — Ted provides mosquito spray. One less thing to think about.

Can I take photos?

Yes, but flash off gives you the best experience. The bioluminescence is best seen with adapted eyes.

Is it safe?

Yes. Ted knows these trails intimately and carries everything needed. The Daintree is home, not a hazard.

Can I book last-minute?

Absolutely. Book ahead if you want to be sure, but same-day bookings are welcome.

What about rainy nights?

Rain makes the forest even more alive. The walk happens rain or shine unless conditions are genuinely unsafe.

Are custom tours available?

Yes — rainforest hikes, swimming holes, and private property access by arrangement. Contact Ted to discuss.

Where do we meet?

Meeting location details are sent after booking. It's in the Daintree area — self-transport required.
